The First Quarter 2025 newsletter of AHA Coding Clinic for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS will be released March 17, 2025. Let’s explore some of the highlights!
The first quarter newsletter provides a summary of the modifications to the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting changes effective April 1, 2025. There are no new ICD-10-CM codes and 50 new ICD-10-PCS codes. In addition, there are 2 revised and 12 deleted ICD-10-PCS codes. There are no ICD-10-PCS Guidelines changes for April 1, 2025.

Terms to Know
Review the following terms to help understand the modifications that go into effect April 1:
TERM | DEFINITION |

Syngeneic | Transplant from a donor who is genetically identical to the recipient |
Allogeneic | Transplant from a genetically similar, but not identical, donor |
Cardiac stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) | A non-invasive procedure that uses high dose radiation to target the areas that are generating problematic electrical signals in patients with arrythmia. It is also called cardiac radio-ablation. |
Cyclops lesion | A known complication of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. It is also known as arthrofibrosis. |
Chimeric antigen receptor-natural killer (CAR-NK) infusion | An investigational cell therapy that utilizes extracted natural killer cells from donated umbilical cord blood. |
